1. Your mobile units must be "AVL-activated" models programmed to send the alerts.
2. Your cell phone account and your AVL monitoring account must be current.
3. The cell phone must have text-messaging capability on one of the six first-tier wireless operators (AT&T Wireless, Verizon, Cingular, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, or Nextel).
