CHALLENGE: AAA Auto Club
South was well aware of the
power of GPS fleet management for improving a towing company's
bottom line. Taking advantage of FleetBoss' preferred supplier
status and pricing, this club initially chose FleetBoss to
help it gather fleet management data, maximize the use of
its operational assets and cut its costs per call. Upon consultation
with a FleetBoss representative, the club discovered even
more benefits from a FleetBoss solution, including lower fuel
costs by tracking speeding and idling times, service call
improvement from PTO monitoring, reduced insurance rates and
increased driver productivity and integrity.
SOLUTION: Upon meeting
with AAA Auto Club South Director Cliff Ruud and listening
to his needs and goals, FleetBoss developed a customized fleet
management solution that was designed to maximize the club's
efficiency, productivity and profits. In less than 60 days,
FleetBoss installed its GPS fleet management systems in 80
trucks at eight locations, including Marietta and Doraville,
GA; Nashville, TN; and Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Naples, Tallahassee
and Tampa, FL.
RESULTS: Focusing on
just one of the AAA Auto Club South locations is enough to
discover the tremendous benefits of a FleetBoss solution.
Auto Club South Orlando used its FleetBoss system to achieve
a return on its initial investment in only six months. According
to this club's manager, Alan Columbus, Auto Club South Orlando
experienced significant, ongoing bottom line benefits including:
- A 15% reduction in fuel bills
for a savings of $11,000 in 2004 (a year of record
high fuel costs).
- A 30% increase in service calls for an average increase
of 50 service calls per week at nearly $36 per call. The
total annual gross revenue increase from these additional
calls equaled $86,400. The FleetBoss time management
benefits alone allowed Auto Club South Orlando to experience
this 30% increase in service calls even after it expanded
its territory midyear. This substantial increase occurred
without any addition to the club's regular tow truck force
consisting of seven vehicles.
